Jorma Ferino is a Multimedia Producer with over 20 years of experience in innovative project management. He is Co-Owner of SJM TECH, a company offering services in interactive 3D visualisation, Virtual and Augmented Reality and Metaverse. His credo is: fantasy is the limit.

Name 1 fun fact about you, your agency, or market, that people might find interesting?

Next year we enter the 20th anniversary of our society. Over the years we have been lucky enough to always work on interesting and stimulating projects that have given us a lot of satisfaction. Transforming video game technologies for use in the medical, industrial, and cultural sectors has been a difficult challenge, but we can say that we have overcome it. We were guided by our passion for videogames and our desire to experiment with new uses of these technologies that were not just for fun, but useful in real cases. The sector is now growing rapidly and has become pervasive in several sectors. We are proud to have believed in it since 2005, when hardly anyone believed in it. We are proud to have invented a job that did not exist.

What were your two greatest accomplishments of 2023?

To have participated in one of the most complex projects to create an interactive, multiplayer 3D virtual world/ Metaverse dedicated to online education. Managing and developing this large project made us grow a lot both as a team and as professionals. We experimented with new technologies and acquired new skills.

Name the best things about being an Indie! (Independent Agency)

The best thing about being an independent agency is that you have the opportunity to break the mold and follow your intuition to create new services that are useful to the client. Another advantage is the flexibility and freedom to choose the partners to work with in order to create a harmonious team dedicated to client satisfaction for each project.

What do you wish clients could better understand to get the most out of their agency partner?

The high level of innovation in our projects requires us to take great care in involving the client and guiding them in choosing the best technological solution to achieve their objective. Our approach is to share all the project development phases with the client, especially the first phase, where the objective is defined and the strategy and technology to be used are identified.

What does AMIN’s Mantra, “You’ve Got Allies”, mean to you in your own words?

It means being part of a global network of agencies and professionals in a highly innovative and strategic sector. The sharing of experiences each from different cultural backgrounds increases the awareness and quality growth of each company or professional. Having allies means having someone to help and vice versa being helped when needed, it means having new friends all over the world, and this is exciting and stimulating for all of us.

What inspires you most as we move into 2025?

For years we have been working on opening up to the international market, and to some extent some of our customers are, but this year in particular we are very focused and oriented towards achieving this goal. What drives us to want to be more present in the international market is precisely the curiosity to travel, to get to know people and cultures from all over the world and to work with them. For someone like us who is always looking for new challenges, this could not be missed.

1) Would you prefer a completely automated home OR a self driving car, and why?
2) Would you rather be transported 500 years into the future OR 500 years into the past, and why?

Good questions! I would rather have an automated house for two reasons, the house is our place, a place that must be safe and comfortable for us and our children. Secondly, because I really enjoy driving.

As for the second question, the answer is: although I am passionate about history and antiquity I would prefer to time travel 500 years into the future, the past we somehow know, the future we do not.
